Perhaps Adobe Photoshop is the most popular image editing software to date. Yes, there are
valid reasons for being at the peak of popularity. Photoshop has always brought the best editing
tools into the table. The users have been highly satisfied with the performance of the tools. So,

The editing tools of Adobe Photoshop are Smudge, Burn, Sharpen, Blur, and Sponge. 

Well, you will find three tools in the same cell as the toolbar. Here you can see three of
them occupying a single cell. The square sign is there to show the latest used tool. If you
choose another one, the square sign will move to the left of that tool name.

Blur: The main task of the blur tool is to reduce the sharpness of a picture. The blur tool
decreases the contrast of the color of the nearest pixels. As a result, it reduces image sharpness. 

Sharpen: Sharpen tool does the opposite job of blur tool. This means it increases the focus of an
image by growing the sharpness. To increase the sharpness at first it decreases the contrast of the
nearest pixels. Thus, it increases the clarity and border contrast and heightens the detail of the image. 

Smudge: If you need to spread color in your image you should use a smudge tool. Photoshop Smudge
tool does the job smoothly. At first, it displaces the pixels from the corresponding colors. You can do that
job by using wet paint as well. Smudge tool grasps the color right after the stroke and mixes it with other colors.
As you drag the cursor it spreads the color to other colors. 

On the contrary Dodge, Burn, and Sponge tools affect the tone of the image. We use it to
lighten and darken different portions of a photo. Like the previous three tools, these three
tools also occupy the same cell on Adobe Photoshop. 

Dodge: Dodge tool increases the lights of the parts of the images. As we drag the cursor across
the image dodge tool starts working. 

Burn: In previous days, we had to go to photo labs to get our photos edited. In those studios,
a photographer used to increase the exposure so that it burns certain portions of the image.
The purpose here was to darken the image. Photoshop has made it easier to do the same job.
The Photoshop burn tool darkens some specific parts of the image. 

Sponge tool: One of the overlooked tools of Photoshop is the Sponge tool. But, it comes up with
some of the most creative ideas in Photo editing. Well, the crucial job that it does is it allows you
to change the saturation of any particular part of an image. It intensifies or removes color from an
image whenever you need it. You can get the desired color using this tool.
